Draw the bed, bedside tables, wardrobe opening and walking routes to scale. Check that drawers and doors can open without moving the bed or blocking an exit. Add the relevant measurements and product requirements to the room brief, then compare the proposed layout at full scale before ordering.
A common mistake to avoid
Do not finalize a bedroom from a top-down plan alone; test the clearance at standing height too. Confirm the final choice against the actual site, the manufacturer's guidance and the people who will use the room.

- Compare material samples and written specifications, not just names or images.
